Fury Road & The Doof Warrior

Fury Road & The Doof Warrior

I took a break this past Friday to see Fury Road with the girlfriend and holy crap, it did not disappoint. The only way I could think to describe it was a 2 hour sci-fi car chase on mushrooms. It was just balls-to-wall action madness with some awesome characters, including some badass women who even passed the Bechdel Test.

I liked it so much I decided to spoil myself by doing a strictly for fun fanart piece of the Apocalypse’s Guitarist, The Doof Warrior. This guy just about stole the show. Prints are available in the shop!

For anyone outisde of the United States you can also pick this up in my Etsy Shop.

App Design: Inspiration Galleries

App Design: Inspiration Galleries

I’ve decided to start posting more of my design and interactive work, both to show what I’m working on between illustration and comic gigs, and to help keep the blog fresh as I tend to have long stretches where I can’t post because of deadlines or a lack of new art.

For the past few months I’ve been working as Creative Director for an upstart mobile dev shop, IdeaLoop,  founded by my good friend Chris McCroskey and coder extraordinaire Robert Hanacek, both of whom I met while working at Rockfish Interactive in 2010. We’re slowly developing a respectable portfolio of interactive work including websites, mobile sites and iPhone/iPad apps.

The first of which I had a hand in is the above Daltile and American Olean “Inspiration Galleries”. They’re a slick interactive photo gallery featuring their tiling products in home decor and outdoor settings.

So, if you’re into interior design or just want a cool reference for awesome interiors find in in the Apple Store.

Cards for the upcoming con season.

I went with a simple, art-focused design this time around, and left off the cell phone number since most folks prefer email anyways. I think these will work better than the previous design, since I’m focusing more on comics and illustration these days than design.
