Green Lantern Commission

Green Lantern Commission

A former co-worker and good friend requested a Green Lantern commission for her friend’s birthday featuring him as the newest protector of Sector 2814.

Matt Drufke, congratulations on another orbit around Sol.

Dallas Comic Con

Dallas Comic Con

I’ll be in Irving this weekend, May 21-22, at the new Convention Center for Dallas Comic Con. I’ll be exhibiting in Artist Alley with the rest of the Space-Gun Studios members.

I’ll have $10 prints, original art for sale and will be offering sketches for $20 and open commission slots.  If you’d like to pre-order a commission you can email me at soulcoredotnet (at) gmail dot com.  I’ll be taking credit cards for the first time as well.

So come on out, say hello, and meet Leonard Nimoy, Stan Lee and a whole bunch of other awesome artists, writers and lovers of funnybooks.

The Art of Akira

The Art of Akira

To say that Akira is a big influence on a lot of artists is an understatement, but coming into it late in the game I remember being amazed that I had never seen it, and awed at what they were able to pull off with 1988 animation techniques.

I’ll have the above piece of Tetsuo available as a print at this years DCC, be sure and check out The Art of Akira exhibit while you’re there.

Agent Broyles

Agent Broyles

I’ve been watching Fringe marathon-style the past week while I work on layouts and try to drum up freelance work.  Here’s an Agent Broyles marker sketch from the batch.

I’ll have this, as well as other sketches, prints and even custom commissions up for grabs next month at Dallas Comic Con.

Idea-Machine

Idea-Machine

I’ve been pretty busy lately with design work, illustrations and the beginnings of production work on my own creator-owned comic project. Unfortunately I won’t get to post most of that work  until their respective sites have been approved and launched. In the meantime here’s a recent commission I can show, one of the manthings keeping me busy these days.

M.O.D.O.K. The Mic!

M.O.D.O.K. The Mic!

I had the privileged of catching a wicked awesome Adam Warrock show when he came to Dallas about a month back. I was severly impressed (and dumbfounded that I’d never heard of MC Router before!) so afterwards I hit him up to offer my services for one of his gig posters.

Turns out he was already in need, so we talked a bit and agreed on M.O.D.O.K, the Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing… The Mic!
